Many Changes Coming My Way

Sorry it has been awhile since I have blogged. I have been so busy with life. This weekend, I have been able get away for my 'writers weekend'. It has been a long time since I have been able to do this. Tampa Tanners parties have been taking the place of these. I have had a blast and wouldn't change that. I look forward to my birthday Masquerade party in June that Cookie has put together. Also, as you've already noticed the huge three day event in August. Cookie has done an amazing job on our website, you can check it out at: tampa tanners.com.

As of July big changes will be happening for me. Luke has been given an assignment that will take him out of the country for 15 months. He has been on me to get my passport post hastily. I am not sure I will be visiting the country he is in, but will meet in the Bahama's, Mexico, or Europe for our rendezvous. As of May 26th, we will be married for 18 years, in those years I have spent many on my own. This one is a drop in the hat compared to my one 4-year separation. Through the years I have made binders of his love letters, e-mails, and post cards. It is a joke between us that I only let him go because he sends home great gifts from his many travels. I have amazing things from all over the world- simple things, such as, coral from the Black Sea, to a huge chest with gold inlay from Afghanistan, and many other beautiful things. It is amazing how time away usually bonds us closer. My hubby loves his job, and actually gets a little edgy and grumpy if home to long. I am not sure if he will extend given the opportunity, but we will play that hand when it comes.

I will be taking over the security in the community where I live. I haven't worked a real job since moving to Florida. Being an ex-cop it will be fun to be out among the people again. I don't have to wear any uniform or carry a weapon. We really don't have many problems other than keep those out that don't belong.

My youngest daughter is a competitive gymnast, and this next season has us traveling through many states, and Mexico. My son graduates high school in June. He is a really great kid and fun to be around. He has been holding down two jobs while going to school. He has informed me he wants to live with me until he is thirty. I guess I should stop doing his laundry and cooking good dinners. My other passion is gourmet cooking. I love to take a recipe and throw my own spin on it.

I actually got a nice stress reliever this last week. Due to the small blister that is still healing Thomas has been sadistic in having me write lines. I wouldn't exactly call them lines, it's more like freaking paragraphs. My latest assignment that he stole from Niko. I had to write: 'I will listen and do what I am told.' I have six colored pens and every letter had to be a different color and nothing in succession. I am at 100 lines, supposed do 200 lines, but I am putting my foot down and not doing anymore. I much rather have an ass beating than write one more line. It's extremely time consuming and tries ones patience.

I will try to pop in more and keep up. When Luke leaves I have to take on so much more. I am glad that most of our children are grown and on their own. When I had all five in the house, I don't think I ever rested. I am excited though about the change that's coming, it always keeps life interesting.

  1. Wow, there are alot of changes for you. Congrats on the new upcoming job. Congrats to your daughter for being on the traveling team. I know how much dedication that it takes. Lol, on your graduating son wanting to stay home. That's not a bad thing though. Sounds like you will definately be busy when Luke leaves. Hurry and get that passport! Happy early Anniversary!
